Lovely old house, big comfy bed. Close to restaurants.
Good choice at breakfast but cooked food not quite as good as expected.

Welcome was great - staff friendly and attentive, room ready and v clean etc. Breakfast was great, lovely service again and a lovely environment. I would say it was the best, friendliest hotel experience I have had.
The only small things for future consideration would be that they had run out of pain au chocolat (husbands fave holiday brekkie!) and the hot water in the morning was a little unreliable, guess there were a lot of us all in the shower at the same time, old house etc but thought it worth mentioning.

We liked the luxurious room. The hotel was also so convenient for strolling down to the town. We needed to explore the area for an evening restaurant.

The design of the hotel is nice. Good location.
The shower on my room just did not have any preasure at all. Very small room but I could see the other rooms where much better.

The Willoughby has effectively slipped into a niche once occupied by the Kandinski. It is by far the most unique Regency accomodation venue in Cheltenham. Long may it resist any temptation to go the way of universal corporate blandness. Full marks for affordability too. Grace, luxury and charm - within the range of the discerning romantisist. I only met two members of staff. They did you proud. The gentleman seemed to be a universal genius of the hotel profession. Is there anything this man can't do? Welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable - a perfect host and able to come up with the perfect breakfast. Even got the boiled eggs just right! The young lady who came to do the room was courteous, extremely good at her job and friendly.
Certainly no complaints. It was a wonderful hotel to stay in and we shall be long remember it. I hope you will consider lunches and dinners in your future planning..

Staff very friendly, helpful and polite, easy to chat to. Breakfast was excellent, good choice of food, served with a smile, in comfortable surroundings. Good location in a quiet area but close to shops.
The shower pressure was poor but I am sure the age and type of house had something to do with this. It would not stop me staying here again.

The staff were very friendly and nothing was any trouble. This is a house and you feel at home. The location was great, just a short stroll to the town.
Could the check out time be 12 noon?

The Hotel was very Grand but welcoming. It was in a perfect location right in Montpelier and a short stroll into town. The owners were really lovely....and the breakfast and service fabulous. We sat in a bay window with a fab view playing eye spy with my 7 year old. The orange juice was freshly squeezed and as soon as anything was taken it was swiftly replenished. I would definetly recommend it just to see the fabulous brass and mahogany bannisters!! Excellent....and the bed was really comfortable!!

The hotel location is excellent and 5-10 mins walk into Cheltenham High Street. The staff were very friendly and helpful for most of my stay. The breakfast was about the best I've had in any hotel (superb). Plenty of free parking. The interior of the hotel (apart from my room) was very well maintained and in keeping with the age and history of the building.
My only real complaint was the room itself. You can call it a feature if you want but having the bath in the room is a dated concept and unacceptable when paying £100 plus a night. The bath was not even a feature bath in keeping with the room, it was just stuck in the corner and looked like a dated 1970's fitting. The curtians were thin and of poor quality, the decoration was very poor with black marks on the walls especially around the loft hatch. I couldn'y connect directly to the hotel Wi-Fi but had to use my BT-Fon account to connect through another Wi=Fi signal.

Staff were pleasant, breakfast was very good. House very elegant
Few facilities, evening restaurant bar or health centre. Very surprised to find the bath / shower actually in the room not seperate, although toilet was. Room safe did not work and no water from hot tap from basin on morning of departure. Perhaps we had the worst room, very expensive for what is was.

We loved Willoughby House. We had the suite, we were told it was the best room in the house and we believe it to be so correct. The room was beautiful and so was the wonderful breakfast. The owners are so nice and 10 stars to the chef for such an elegant breakfast. Thanks again.
